If you are testing, one in particular to note: "The EC approved a motion, to become effective July 1, 2018, to require all owners (if more than one owner, at least one co-owner needs to be a member) and handlers of a dog in a NAVHDA test must first be a member of NAVHDA (referring to the NAVHDA parent organization a.k.a. NAVHDA International)."

OGR Chapter History

The Ontario Grand River Chapter was sanctioned on January 18, 1985. However, the history of the chapter goes beyond that time.  NAVHDA was founded in 1969 with significant input from members in Ontario including Bodo Winterhelt and Dr. Ed Bailey, authors of The Training and Care of the Versatile Hunting Dog - "the green book”.

The Ontario Chapter of NAVHDA became one of the charter chapters. The Ontario Chapter flourished and in late 1984 it was decided to divide to form two chapters within Ontario to allow for the additional development of the versatile dog. The Ontario Chapter dissolved and the Ontario Grand River and the Toronto Chapters were formed. Today, the Ontario Grand River Chapter serves Southwestern Ontario; from Lake Huron to Lake Ontario, from Georgian Bay to Lake Erie.
